Chiropractic for DANCERS
When your body is in better alignment, your nervous system is finely tuned, the functions at its optimal level. This leads to better performance, fewer injuries and quicker recovery.
A research study conducted by Drs. Anthony Lauro and Brian Mouch, published in the journal of Chiropractic research and Clinical Investigation, 1991, indicated chiropractic care might improve athletic performance by as much as 16.7% over a two week period. The report also concluded that subluxation-free athletes react faster, coordinate better, execute fine movements with improved accuracy and precision, amounting to an overall better athlete.
For dancers who have to perform on a national stage, it is important that each movement they do is in sync with the other performers and executed with precision and grace.
Furthermore, a chiropractor will “use physical and neurological tests and treatments to provide stability and orientation in space, improve motor movements and sensory acuity, all of which are highly defined in world-class athletes.”
The popularity of chiropractic has grown around the world. Every athlete is looking for an edge and they are finding that chiropractic offers a hands-on, drug-free advantage. Athletes are finely tuned humans and when one seemingly insignificant part of their physiology is not performing correctly they lose function.
Ways adjustments benefit a dancer:
- Reduce motor reaction times
- Increase stability of the body
- Increase coordination of movements
- Increase oxygen transportation and usage
- Reduce bio mechanical joint position errors
- Provide a lifetime of physiological and neurologic care
